This time of year puts us in a thoughtful frame of mind to think about others who have less than we do – or may be facing challenges that we can’t bear to imagine. The act of giving is woven into the very fabric of the holiday season.
Did you know Tuesday, December 2 is #GivingTuesday? This grassroots cousin of Black Friday and Cyber Monday kicks off the holiday season on a philanthropic note. As a proud #GivingTuesday partner, we encourage you to ‘give back’ this holiday season and this year we’re making it easy!
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) partner Chico’s and White House Black Market, located in the downtown Burlington Mall, are selling CMNH Bears for $25 with $15 of each sale given to The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital you can purchase in stores or online. Maple Tree Place in Williston is hosting a Season of Giving Campaign with several local merchants, matching donations up to $250. These funds help make our hospital a fun place to be. Look for a coin canister at one of the participating locations. You can also visit or volunteer at our gift wrapping station, hosted by the Maple Tree Place shopping plaza; if you stop by your packages will be certainly be wrapped with love.
Lastly, consider making an online donation in the name of that special friend or family member. In the time it takes to find a parking spot at the mall, you can give in honor of your loved one and help support our patients at The University of Vermont Children’s Hospital.
