Urgent Care at the University of Vermont Medical Center’s Fanny Allen Campus is ready to see you! No appointments needed, just walk in, including evening and weekend hours. We anticipate that you may have some questions first. So, let’s answer them here:
What is Urgent Care?
Urgent Care is part of the University of Vermont Medical Center. Our team is board-certified in Family Medicine to offer the highest quality of care. They are supported by on-site laboratory and radiology services, and backed up by the full network of specialists. Our state-of-the-art electronic medical record for UVM Medical Center patients allows us to easily share information to enhance your care.
What types of patients should visit Urgent Care?
We offer non-emergency care for a broad range of acute medical problems and unexpected injuries and illness, including rashes, sprains/strains, sore throats, flu symptoms, minor cuts and burns, urinary tract infections, school and camp physicals, tetanus updates, and more.
For problems that don’t need the level of care in an emergency department, we offer lower cost care with typically lower co-payments, and allow the emergency department to focus on the patients most in need of a different level of care. For emergencies such as stroke and heart attacks, you should call 911 and be seen in the Emergency Department.
What if I don’t have a primary care doctor, or cannot be seen by my doctor? Is Urgent Care an option?
If you are without primary care, can’t be seen by your doctor, or have a problem that requires more care than your doctor’s office may be able to provide, we are happy to see you – and your doctor’s office will be able to access information from your visit with us. We are also able to provide referrals to primary care if you don’t have a provider.
When is Urgent Care open and where is it?
We are open evenings, weekends and most holidays, Sunday to Saturday, 8 am – 8 pm. We are located just off Exit 15 of I-89, near St. Michael’s College on the Fanny Allen Campus with easy access and parking.
